San Diego County bail bonds FAQ
Clear answers to the questions families ask most when a loved one is in custody. Still unsure? A real agent is one call away.
How much is a bail bond in San Diego County?
California sets bail premiums by filed rate, typically 10% of the full bail amount. On $20,000 bail that is about $2,000. Payment plans and discounts can lower what you pay up front.
How long does it take to get released?
After the bond is posted, release depends on the facility’s processing. Smaller jails can take roughly 2–6 hours; the San Diego Central Jail can take longer during busy intake. We post as fast as possible.
Do you serve every jail in the county?
Yes, San Diego Central, Vista, Las Colinas, George Bailey, South Bay, East Mesa and Rock Mountain, plus city police stations across San Diego County.
Do I need collateral?
Many bonds are written with no collateral. Whether it’s required depends on the bail amount and the case. We review options with you for free.
What information do you need to get started?
The arrested person’s full name and the facility or city of arrest is enough to begin. We’ll find the booking and bail amount from there.
Is the bail premium refundable?
No. It is the bondsman’s fully-earned fee for posting bail, regulated by the California Department of Insurance.
Can I bail someone out without leaving home?
Often yes. Paperwork and payment can be handled by phone and online, which is ideal for out-of-town or out-of-state co-signers.
What happens if the defendant misses court?
Missing court can forfeit the bond and trigger a warrant. Contact us immediately if a date is in doubt, there are often ways to fix it before the bond is at risk.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Se habla español. We explain every step clearly in the language you’re most comfortable with.
Are you available at night and on holidays?
Always. Arrests don’t keep business hours, so neither do we, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every holiday.
